Small Animal Practice Veterinary Nurse

Background

I have been qualified as a registered Veterinary Nurse since April 2003.  I also gained my D32/33 Assessor certificate in 2004 which enables me to assess student veterinary nurses.

I first worked in a busy 5 vet mixed practice which included small animal, farm and equine.   I then moved on to a 1 vet small animal practice where I was the only nurse.

In 2014, I joined RDSVS small animal first opnion practice, being part of a busy team.

My main duties throughout all my positons have been:  Anaesthesia, surgical nursing, medical nursing, diagnositc imaging, laboratory work, reception duties, running nursing clincis and training student nurses.

I also lecture at Edinburgh College teaching the student veterinary nurses, as well as marking and moderating submitted assignments.
