Jane Tulloch is the Laboratory and Animal Manager for the Spires-Jones Lab. She graduated with a degree in Biomedical Science from Napier University, is a Chartered Scientist with The Science Council, and holds memberships with The Institutes of Science and Technology and Biomedical Science.

Jane started her working career at the University of Edinburgh's Pathology Department, where she developed a keen interest in neuropathology.  She then took on the role of Lab Manager in the Laboratory for Cognitive Neuroscience, working for Professor Richard Morris.

Since 2015, Jane has been the Laboratory and Animal Manager for Professor Tara Spires-Jones, where she manages and provides specialist support to this busy, dynamic group.  She contributes to the lab's programme of high-quality research investigating the mechanisms of synapse loss in Alzheimers disease using both rodent and human models. As well as taking responsibility for the group's large mouse colonies, Jane is also involved in working with human post-mortem brain tissue, a hugely valuable research resource.

Along with Prof Spires-Jones, Jane manages the running of the labs, overseeing staffing, Health & Safety, mentoring, project management, Home office compliance, public engagement, procurement and finance.

Jane is a member of the UK Dementia Research Institute, is an active committee member of the UK DRI Technologist Group and working group lead. She is passionate about promoting opportunities, recognition and advancement within the sector.
