Background

I started my PhD in Psychology at the University of Edinburgh in September 2019. My PhD explores how categories 'north Indian and south Indian' are invoked by users in online, ordinary interactions on social media sites.

Qualifications

B.Tech. in Computer Science, International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, India (2014-2018)

M.S. By Research in Exact Humanities, International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, India (2018-2019)

Responsibilities & affiliations

I am a tutor for Psychology 1A since 2019. I have also been a tutor for Research Methods and Statistics 3 (Qualitative Methods) since 2021.

Research summary

My research explores how users of social media sites (such as Twitter) invoke different social categories (north Indian and south Indian) in ordinary online interactions. Using a Discursive Psychological/ Conversation Analytic approach, I try to understand the different actions accomplished by making categories relevant to ongoing interactions.
