Background

Iain Murray is a Consultant Orthopaedics Surgeon and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh.  He specialises in the management of sports injuries of the knee and hip.  He completed ACGME Accredited Fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at Stanford University and served as assistant team physician for the San Francisco 49ers and Stanford Athletics.  He undertook PhD Training in Edinburgh and at the University of California, Los Angeles. His research is focussed on the prevention and management of sport and activity related injuries and in the clinical translation of biologic treatments.  His is associate editor of the Bone and Joint Journal (BJJ) and a member of the Musculoskeletal committee of the International Society for Cell and Gene Therapy, and the Biologics Association.
