Background

Gustavo Herrera Taboada is a Peruvian film scholar and cultural mediator. He is currently a PhD candidate in Film Studies at the University of Edinburgh, researching on the development of Peruvian-Spanish co-productions and their impact in Peruvian cinema. Gustavo holds an MA in Cultural Management from Universidad Carlos III (Madrid, Spain), an MA in Film and Media Studies from Columbia University (New York, NY), and a BA in Screen Studies from Clark University (Worcester, MA). He has previously participated in film festivals like the New York Peruvian Film Showcase and has worked as research assistant for Madrid-based publishing house and art gallery Ivorypress. Gustavo is a periodical film contributor for online blog site  Cinencuentro (Peru).
