Lecturer in Small Animal Orthopaedics
My name is Francisco and I graduated from the University of Lisbon in 2013. After just over a year of working in general practice in East Yorkshire, I joined Dick White Referrals in Cambridgeshire, where I completed a rotating internship. Immediately afterwards, I enrolled in a 4-year residency programme in Small Animal Surgery at the same institution. I subsequently joined the University of Edinburgh as a Lecturer in Small Animal Orthopaedic Surgery in August 2020 after finishing my residency. I enjoy all aspects of Small Animal Orthopaedics, with a particular interest in implant and fracture biomechanics, joint replacement techniques and fracture management.
Outside work, I enjoy running, keeping fit and I am also a keen spectator of rugby and football. I also enjoy spending time outdoors and always up for a walk with our border collie Fly.
