Background

Élaina Gauthier-Mamaril is a crip Filipinx philosopher with a background in the history of Western philosophy and relational ontology. Her work engages with feminist philosophies and Filipino philosophies to contribute to the philosophy of disability and disability bioethics. Élaina is also the producer and host of Philosophy Casting Call, an interview podcast that features underrepresented philosophical talent. She holds a PhD in philosophy from the University of Aberdeen.

Research summary

Élaina is currently working on mapping the transition from pandemic to endemic by analysing the case of Long COVID through a relational ontology lens. This will involved interdisciplinary research involving historical, sociological, and legal studies methodologies and sources.
