Background

I was appointed teaching fellow in Basque at the University of Edinburgh in 2023.

Prior to this, I completed a BA in Human Geography at the University of Durham and MSc in Society and Space at the University of Bristol. Having learnt French, Spanish and Basque as a teenager, during and post-university study I have always been interested in intertwining the lived experiences of different but interlinked languages and cultures with my studies and research in Geography, Environmental Sciences, Philosophy and Sociolinguistics.

In the year 2022-23 I lived and worked in Tbilisi, Georgia, teaching English and Basque and exploring the rich and complex cultures and histories of the South Caucasus.

I have carried out research across the Basque country and have lived and worked in the provinces of Bizkaia and Zuberoa.
