Background
Lindsey is a postdoctoral research fellow in forensic psychiatry within the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences. She completed her PhD in forensic psychiatry in 2020 evaluating evidence-based practice in psychological therapies within forensic mental health services. Lindsey is a research psychologist with academic training and prior research in clinical neurosicence and cognitive neuropsychology. She was previously employed by and maintains a working relationship with the Forensic Mental Health Services Managed Care Network and the State Hospital Psychological Therapies Service. She is an associate member of the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research and holds an honorary research position with the NHS State Hospitals Board for Scotland, the high security hospital for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
In 2023 the International Association of Forensic Mental Health Services awarded Lindsey the Christopher Webster Early Career Award, which recognises an individual in the early stages of their career who has made significant contributions to the forensic mental health field.

Research summary
Lindsey's current research interests revolve around the improvement of forensic mental healthcare and in the study of the translation of evidence-based practice into clinical practice. This work is funded by Scottish Government and the State Hospitals Board for Scotland.
