Thesis title: What is it like to be a teacher in an emergency on a school expedition

Research summary

I am interested in using Educational Expeditions as a lens with which to examine issues within education in general and school teaching in particular.

Items of interest include:

  • Proceduralism: what sustains this trend, and the limitations imposed by this trend
  • How teachers and other educators are prepared (or not) to respond to unexpected events, particularly events with a potential for high impact
  • How teachers and other educators are prepared (or not) to work with other professionals, especially in contexts where the duty of care is shared
