Deksha Kapoor

Thesis title: A Data-Driven, Community-Based Approach to Evaluating and Improving Scottish Food Environments

Background

Prior to joining the Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Systems, Deksha worked as a Research Scientist at the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (A.I.I.M.S), India, and before that, at the Centre for Chronic Disease Control, India. Deksha has a Masters degree in Nutrition from Delhi University, India. Her previous research work focused on prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus in women with history of gestational diabetes. She is also currently working with the Poshan Abhiyan project of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, India, to create a national food atlas, with support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
