Daniel Kyereko is a post-doctoral research fellow with the Moray House School of Education and Sport. He holds a PhD in education from the Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies (BIGSAS), University of Bayreuth, Germany.
His doctoral thesis explored inclusion within Ghanaian schools using the case of West African migrants . The work offers a new theoretical model that explains migrant education considering the peculiar characteristics of post-colonial multicultural societies in Africa and by extension the global South.
Daniel worked with the Ford foundation funded project “Forum on Expanding Youth Learning and Opportunity Pathways in, and Linked to, West Africa” in 2018 and 2019. Daniel worked as a subject specialist for the Global Education Monitoring Report in 2018. He was commissioned by UNESCO to write a background paper for the 2019 Global Education Monitoring Report, “Migration, displacement and education: Building bridges, not walls”.
In his current role, Daniel is affiliated to the Institute for Education, Community & Society (IECS) and works closely with the MSc Education: Comparative Education and International Development pathway team. Daniel also explores ways to increase the impact of his PhD work, including increased networking and diversifying communication.
