Research summary

Explosives, oxidizers, propellant formulations, cross-linked polymers, diazirine chemistry, macrocycles, magnetic nanoparticles and heterocyclic ligands.

Current research interests

Current research focuses on the development of novel oxidizers for propellant formulations.

Past research interests

Previously, I was involved in a series of projects ranging from the 1) synthesis of β/γ-cyclodextrin/polyethylene glycol derivatives as inert and energetic polymeric binders, 2) development of a modular synthetic approach for the introduction of a diazirine functionality into various types of biologically interesting carbohydrate derivatives, 3) design and synthesis of novel macrocyclic additives for British Petroleum (BP) to 4) synthesis and evaluation of novel heterocyclic ligands for the separation of minor actinides to reduce the long term nuclear legacy of stored waste.
