Background

I qualified as a teacher of FLE (Français Langue Etrangère/ French as a Foreign Language) at Université Paul Valéry Montpellier III and as a secondary school French teacher in the “Education Nationale”. I taught French as a Foreign Language at university level in Latvia and France, and currently in Scotland, where I have been working for the University of Edinburgh since 2013. In 2017, I created Babble (DELC Creative Writing Magazine) with my colleague Sylvain Blanche.

I am also a poet, under the name Anne-Laure Coxam. I have had work published in magazines such as Gutter, The Scores, Poetry Scotland, Erotoplasty, and in the following anthologies: Wretched Strangers (Boiler House Press); The End Of The World Project (http://www.moriapoetry.com/ ); Umbrellas of Edinburgh Freight Books/Shoreline of Infinity); Four Letter Word Project (Interview Room 11 https://interviewroom-11.square.site/) ; Dostoyevsky Wannabe Glasgow Anthology (Dostoyevsky Wannabe). I am blessed to be part of a collective of women poets called 12 and my first full collection "the male and the female poet go to the surgery in exciting times" came out in November 2022 with Blue Diode Press.
