Thesis title: Defining the functional consequence of LRRK2 dysregulation in astrocytes

Background

My research interests broadly relate to exploring the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neuro-glial interactions in neurodegenerative diseases.

The goal of my PhD is to gain a deeper understanding of the role of LRRK2 in human stem cell derived astrocytes in health and disease, as mutations in LRRK2 are a common genetic cause of Parkinson’s.

Qualifications

BA (Hons) Science Degree (Moderatorship in Neuroscience), Trinity College Dublin (2020)
