Miss Ailidh Mackay

Student Marketing Manager

Background

Ailidh joined the vet school in August 2014 and was responsible for the recruitment of suitably qualified undergraduate vet students from the UK and overseas.

From 2017 Ailidh’s role focussed on the student recruitment and marketing of the Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Systems’ undergraduate BSc programmes.  She implemented an admissions process and was responsible for the assessment of UCAS applications.

In 2020 Ailidh moved to the College of Science and Engineering where she managed undergraduate admissions to the School of Biological Sciences and postgraduate admissions to the School of Geosciences.  Following this Ailidh took on a role in College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences specialising in non-standard admissions processes and served as interim Director of Undergraduate Admissions before returning to the vet school in 2022.

As Student Marketing Manager, Ailidh leads on all student, or learner, facing marketing material to ensure a consistent look and voice to what is produced.  Working closely with programme and admissions leads Ailidh can advise on the most valuable messaging and content based on her understanding of applicant journeys and motivations at different levels of study.

Sitting on a number of university-wide committees and working groups, Ailidh retains close links with colleagues both within the marketing and admissions communities. She also deputises for the Head of Marketing and Communications.
