Information about eligibility and the application process
The School are pleased to announce the availability of MSc (1+3) and PhD (+3) studentships funded by the Economic & Social Research Council (ESRC).
Information on the ESRC Pathways can be found on the Scottish Doctoral Training Partnership website.
Applicants must be students from the UK or EU countries and satisfy the eligibility criteria of the ESRC. Please see the Scottish Graduate School of Social Science for further details.
Psychology is one of the research training pathways that forms part of the ESRC Scottish Doctoral Training Partnership. ESRC 1+3 and +3 studentships in Psychology are available at the Universities of Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrews. Potential applicants to Edinburgh should follow the instructions below in order to be considered.
Programmes available at the University of Edinburgh include the PhD in Psychology (+3 studentships), or 1+3 studentships beginning with:
- MSc Cognition in Science & Society
- MSc Human Cognitive Neuropsychology
- MSc Psychological Research
- MSc Psychology of Individual Differences
- MSc Psychology of Language
- MSc by Research Psychology
- make an application to study one of the approved programmes named above.
- email the School Postgraduate Office to register their interest in ESRC funding.
Friday 30th November 2018
This is the School deadline for students applying for this funding source. Students must have an application to study AND have registered their interest by emailing the School Postgraduate Office. Late applications will not be considered.
Intial consideration will be made internally on the basis of the programme application submitted. Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete an additional application through the Scottish Graduate School Hub in January.
