Psychology Lecturer Dr Anne Templeton wins BPS Social Psychology Section Early Career Award
Dr. Anne Templeton given award by leading psychological association.
Congratulations to Psychology lecturer, Dr Anne Templeton for receiving the Early Career Award from the BPS (British Psychological Society) Social Psychology Section.
I am thrilled to receive this award. The award is even more meaningful to me because the Social Psychology Section is full of excellent, highly creative early career researchers who consistently push social psychology in new directions. I very much look forward to the conference where I will talk about my PhD paper (supervised by Prof John Drury and Prof Andy Philippides at the University of Sussex) and show how it led to my current research activities.
Early Career Award
This award is presented annually in recognition of outstanding research in social psychology by an early-career scholar and is determined by the submission of a single published paper where the nominee has led that piece of research.
Anne was nominated for her paper Walking together: behavioural signatures of psychological crowds.
Anne’s research primarily focuses on crowd psychology and using principles of social identity to improve crowd safety in emergencies and at mass events.
The award will be presented to Anne at the BPS Social Psychology Section Annual Conference in September.
