Psychology student chosen for Olympic Great British rowing team
Huge congratulations to fourth-year Psychology student Lucy Glover, who has been selected to represent the Team GB rowing team at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
One of the youngest athletes named in the rowing team, Lucy is a multiple junior and under 23 world medallist. Despite only debuting for the senior team in January 2021, she made her mark at the European Championships, winning a silver medal.
In Tokyo, she will sit in the stroke seat of the British women’s quad scull, hoping to lead her crew onto the podium.
Lucy who has been training full-time alongside her studies, comments:
To achieve Olympic selection is a moment I have dreamt of ever since I picked up an oar as a young girl.
Good luck to Lucy and the GB Team, we’ll be cheering you on!
The Tokyo Olympic Games will take place from 23 July – 8 August 2021.
(Originally set to take place in 2020 the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games were postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic but the official title has been retained.)
