The James McCune Smith reading group is organised by the Edinburgh MAP Chapter (EMAPC)
The reading group aims to discover, explore and critically engage with philosophical writings by academics from underrepresented groups, or/and on topics that have been side-lined or neglected.
Time and place
The reading group has been running since 2020. Currently, the text explored is: Africa, Asia, and the History of Philosophy: Racism in the Formation of the Philosophical Canon, 1780-1830 by Peter K.J. Park. Details of upcoming sessions are broadcasted to our mailing list.
