Title: Tipping Points: Abuse and Transformative Discovery
Abstract: In this paper I’ll argue that two chief criteria inform our interpretations of what each other are attributively responsible for. The first prioritizes assigning attributability in ways that give us greater agency, but the second prioritizes assigning attributability in ways that make us better. Together, I’ll argue, these two factors in interpersonal interpretation explain the existence of tipping points in interpersonal interpretation, in light of which we re-interpret large swathes of our past relationship with someone.
