Transferring your degree
If you want to change to a different programme
Degree Transfers - New and Incoming First Year Undergraduate Students
Incoming first year undergraduate students wishing to transfer their degree must contact the College Undergraduate Admissions Office within the first two weeks of the semester, i.e. by Friday, 1 October 2021. No degree transfers for 2021/22 will be possible after this date.
Degree Transfers - Continuing Students
The deadline to submit a degree transfer application to the School of PPLS was Friday, 17 September 2021.
There are strict deadlines governing degree transfers, and degree transfer applications for the 2021/22 academic year have now closed. Applications for 2022/23 will open in January 2022.
Students wishing to transfer into a programme owned by the School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences (PPLS) are advised to speak to a PPLS student support officer at an early stage. Transfers are not always straightforward, even for transfers between a combined honours degree and a related single honours degree programme.
Degree transfer applications are considered over the summer, after all results for the current academic year are available. It is not possible to transfer mid-way through the academic year.
Decisions are made by the PPLS senior Personal Tutor and are based on:
- Academic achievement at University
- Academic achievement prior to entry and/or programme entry thresholds
- Student's personal statement and motivation for changing programme
- Relevant special circumstances
Students can expect to hear the outcome of their transfer application during the summer break, ahead of the start of next academic year.
