The Royal Society Medal is awarded to Michela Massimi, our School's Professor of Philosophy of Science
Congratulations to Michela who is awarded the 2017 Wilkins-Bernal-Medawar Medal for her interdisciplinary interests in and communication of modern philosophy and science: particularly in relation to physics, and the thinking of Newton, Kant and Pauli.
Michela leads the Research Cluster in Philosophy of Science here at PPLS and is currently Principal Investigator for a five-year ERC Consolidator Grant on perspectival realism.
Michela is giving a prize lecture in Spring 2018 where she will be awared a silver gilt medal and a gift of £2,000 as part of the award.
The award is given for excellence in a subject relating to the history of science, philosophy of science or the social function of science.
