Exam results, progression, and degree results

How you receive your results

Degree results and confirmation of progression are made available to you via the EUCLID student view.

An automated email will be sent to your University email account when your final result or progression decision is available.

Key dates

Exam boards 2020-2021

Date Purpose
February 2022 Ratification of coursework results from semester 1 where available.
24 June 2022 Ratification of coursework results and confirmation of progression to dissertation/exit awards where appropriate
end October 2022 Final examination board ratifying dissertation results and confirming degree awards

Progression

Students should note that they will receive official confirmation of their progression decision no later than noon on Tuesday 5th July 2022. All official progression decisions will be communicated to students via the EUCLID student view. An automated email will be sent to students’ University email accounts when their progression decision is ready.

Degree results

Barring unforeseen circumstances, the School plans to release degree results to its postgraduate students by Thursday 27 October 2022. All results will be communicated to students via the EUCLID student view.

How is my degree result determined?

As you work towards completion of your degree programme, we recommend that you take a little time to familiarise yourself with the regulations that govern assessment in the University, and the sources of support that the University has in place if you have queries or concerns about your own result.

Assessment regulations

The University's Taught Assessment Regulations govern how courses and taught programmes are assessed.

These regulations also include links to the University’s Common Marking Scheme which is applied for all the School’s assessed work, including examinations.

Merit

To achieve a merit, a student must be awarded at least 60% on the University’s Postgraduate Common Marking Scheme for the dissertation and must pass all other courses with an average of at least 60%.

A borderline student with a coursework average of 58 or above will be awarded a Merit only if their dissertation result is 60 or above and the aggregate of the coursework and dissertation mark is 60 or above.

Distinction

To achieve a distinction, a student must be awarded at least 70% on the University’s Postgraduate Common Marking Scheme for the dissertation and must pass all other courses with an average of at least 70%.

Any borderline student with a coursework average of 68 or above will be awarded a Distinction only if their dissertation result is 70 or above and the aggregate of coursework and dissertation mark is 70 or above.

Academic appeals
