DIPM investigators Professor Sue Welburn and Dr Richard Sloan have appeared in a short film explaining the partnership between Edinburgh University and Zhejiang University in China.
The partnership with Zhejiang University is the first of its type for the University and for China. The purpose-built International Campus at Haining, Zhejiang Province, will eventually accommodate 5,000 students, and brings together researchers and teaching staff from Edinburgh and Zhejiang Universities.
Staff from Edinburgh and Zhejiang will deliver a four-year degree in Biomedical Sciences – the first of its type in China – which will be taught entirely in English.
Professor Welburn is the Executive Dean of the Zhejiang University-Edinburgh University Joint Institute, and Dr Sloan is an Edinburgh based lecturer who spends a significant proportion of his time teaching infection and immunity and running a research team working on HIV at the Joint Institute in Haining
In this short film, staff and students explain why they believe the partnership between Edinburgh and Zhejiang offers a huge opportunity for teaching and research.
