The histology research service lab have tissue processors allowing fixed tissues to be processed through to paraffin wax, microtomes for section cutting and access to a variety of light microscopy stains including routine H&E, PSR, PAS, PBR, Reticulin, Masson Trichrome, Elastic and Orcein.
Sections for immunocytochemistry, DNA or RNA recovery can also be cut and immunohistochemistry can be performed on the cut sections if required.
A cryostat is also available for frozen section cutting.
