The University of Edinburgh is committed to sustainable food practices.
Recognising that many aspects of the current global food system are unsustainable, the University aims to contribute to the creation of a sustainable food system that enriches society and the environment.
We will do this by providing healthy, sustainable and affordable food to the University community. We also aim to give staff and students the opportunity to take practical actions and participate in academic debates around this complex issue.
For more information about how we are working to promote a sustainable food system, please contact Alexis Heeren.
Alexis became interested in engagement after facilitating a course to help University members cut their carbon footprints. Alexis leads our Office Awards programme and coordinates the department's sustainable food activities.
