Postgraduate study

Full-time or part-time study

Most of our programmes are available to study full time or part time.

There are advantages to both modes of study. The mode you choose will depend on your ongoing commitments, your financial resources and your individual study preferences.

Study modes

The modes of study on offer will depend on your individual programme. Check our degree finder or contact the Programme Director if you are not sure.

Advantages of full-time study

Studying full-time allows you to focus intensively and without interruption on your academic development.

If you are taking a career break or aiming to strengthen employment prospects, full-time study will allow you to complete the programme and return to work in the shortest time possible.

Advantages of part-time study

You may wish to combine academic study with work or other commitments, and so take longer to finish your degree.

If you are studying a professionally related degree, it might be to your advantage to combine work and study; experiences gained in your professional life will add depth and relevance to your academic development. Some taught programmes, particularly the professionally oriented ones, are only available by part-time study.

International students

Students from outside the EU are not normally able to study part-time, due to UKVI regulations.

Online learning

You can study for programmes online, without the need to attend courses on campus.
