Changes to the way you log in to EASE

We're making changes to the EASE authentication service.

What is EASE?

The University's single-sign-on authentication service, https://www.ease.ed.ac.uk, used in accessing MyEd, Learn and much more.

What changes are being made?

  • The log in service will have an updated look and feel which will simplified and tied in with the main University's website theme
  • A two-step login process will be introduced (username on one page, password on the next), thereby greatly increasing its security
  • We will be removing the use of the 'EASE' name from this page and replacing it with 'Your University Login'
  • Service content will be updated to ensure full accessibility.

What will the new login process look like?

1. When you try to access a system that uses EASE, you will be directed to the following log in page where you will be prompted to input your username (UUN).

2. Once you have clicked to continue, you will then be prompted to input your password.

3. If your login attempt is successful, you will then be directed to the following page and will be able to access any of the University systems that use the authentication service.

Do I need to do anything?

No, this is for information only. You will not need to re-register for the service or take any specific action when the updated service goes live.

When will these changes be made?

August 2019, prior to the start of Semester 1 in September.
