Free summer accommodation helps new staff to ‘live work and play’

Free accommodation, meals and utility bills for three months are just some of the attractions for a range of job opportunities at the University of Edinburgh this summer.

The recruitment drive for hospitality staff will enable staff to live and work in the capital during Edinburgh’s Festivals – a notoriously challenging time to find affordable accommodation.

Hospitality opportunities

The university is looking for people from a range of backgrounds, including current students and those travelling to Scotland over the summer.

Living wage

These jobs pay above the UK’s living wage and comes with a starting rate from £10.40 per hour. All new starts will benefit from paid overtime and a guarantee of a minimum 20 hours each week.

Successful candidates will gain work experience in a number of areas across the department. There is availability in both student accommodation and the commercial hospitality business, which includes the University’s conference venues and newly refurbished year-round hotels.
