Information for prospective undergraduates from the EU who have applied to study at the University of Edinburgh.
The University of Edinburgh prepares students for global futures. Many of Edinburgh’s graduates progress to careers outside the UK. Degrees from the University of Edinburgh will continue to be recognised by employers and universities across Europe and the rest of the world. The UK’s membership of the European Higher Education Area is unaffected by its EU member status.
The Scottish Government has confirmed free tuition in Scotland for EU students enrolling in the 2017 and 2018 academic years. Students will be admitted as Scottish/EU fee status students, will retain that status for the duration of their studies, and are eligible for tuition fee support from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS).
Please visit the SAAS website for more information:
The University is guaranteeing international mobility support for all 2018-19 undergraduate entrants who are required to complete a year abroad during their third, or exceptionally fourth, year of study.
The University is providing further advice for all EU/EAA students around issues including permanent right of residence and comprehensive sickness insurance.
