Coronavirus (Covid-19) updates for staff and students

Hybrid working

Information for staff on hybrid working and what this means.

(Updated 20 September 2021)

Staff who work partially from home or remotely, and partially on campus, are classed as "Hybrid Working", although their contractual place of work is still campus based.

As Covid-19 restrictions have eased, we are moving to a phased return to campus, in line with Scottish Government guidelines, which means more members of staff will be hybrid working.

Colleges and Professional Service Groups are working hard to agree the best approach to make this phased return work in every area of the University.

Hybrid Working Framework

The pandemic has had a significant impact on the way we work at the University, and the Hybrid Working Programme has been established to support colleagues to transition to a new more sustainable way of working going forward.

As part of this, the University has co-created a hybrid working framework that provides guidance for managers and staff on hybrid working decisions. This framework is now available for use to help with the phased return to campus and interim decisions about hybrid working as well as to support new and continuing discussions about working patterns.
