The University’s 1st XV men’s team will play a starring role in Scottish rugby’s end-of-season showpiece at Murrayfield.
Edinburgh will meet Aberdeenshire in the Scottish Bowl final - one of four matches that make up the Scottish Hydro Electric Cup Finals day at the national stadium on Sunday, 10 May.
The match, which is the club’s first appearance at the home of Scottish rugby, will kick off at 12.15pm.
Student tickets priced at £5 are available from Irene McTernan in the Edinburgh University Sports Union office at 48 Pleasance.
A free bus for supporters will be leaving George Square at 11 am to take people to Murrayfield, returning at 2.15 pm.
To reserve a seat contact Irene McTernan.
The final is a momentous achievement for all involved with the club - and is the cherry on the cake for what has been a highly successful season.
The 1st XV has enjoyed a good run in BUSA championships; defeating Liverpool University 42-10 before unfortunately going down to Leeds University 35-15 in the next round.
The club also cemented their position in Scottish Hydro Electric National 1, with some impressive try scoring displays securing them sixth position in the table.
The rugby club celebrated its 150th anniversary last year so it's great to mark that milestone by reaching such a prestigious final. It's also an achievement of which all those associated with the University can be extremely proud. The only thing left to do is to pick up the silverware - come on the Burgh!
