University success in funding awards

The University has been successful in its bid for an Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) funding award.

The Block Grant Partnership (BGP) award will secure funding for postgraduate study over the next five years.

The award represents an investment of more than £5.5 million in high quality research and training.

It will provide 95 PhD and 47 Masters studentships in 21 subject areas in the Arts and Humanities.

Edinburgh’s BGP proposal was considered by the AHRC to demonstrate 'particular strength in the institutional strategy and vision', and to provide ‘excellent training provision and an excellent research environment’.

We are delighted to see our strengths in postgraduate training and supervision being recognised by the AHRC. MSc and PhD students are a key part of our research environment at Edinburgh and we warmly welcome this additional support.
