New Director of Development

A fundraiser with a notable track record of success in the UK and US is joining the University as Director of Development.

Liesl Elder, currently Director of Development and Communications at Durham University, will start at Edinburgh in late August.

At Durham, she played a key role in the University's ambitious 175th Anniversary fundraising campaign, more than doubling the institution's philanthropic income.

Mrs Elder replaces former Director of Development, Robert Fleming.

Liesl joins the University of Edinburgh at a moment of great ambition and opportunity. The £350 million capital campaign has reached the £240 million mark. With three years of the campaign left, I am confident that Liesl will make major contributions to the life of this University.
