Student science writers win press award

A university student publication has been named Best Magazine at the Herald newspaper’s Scottish Student Press Awards.

The publication, EUSci, is managed by science students at the University and is published three times each year.

Awards ceremony

Members of the magazine’s team accepted their award at an event in Glasgow.

The team won a trophy and a week’s internship for one student at the Herald offices.

Broad remit

The magazine covers research news from the University, feature articles, interviews and book reviews.

Articles are intended to appeal to specialists as well as a general audience.

Stories appear in print and online.

It is a great honour and we are really proud. A big team of about 50 people works hard to put the magazine together and it's really nice to be recognised. It's especially exciting that a science magazine won.
