Rugby teams prepare for weekend Varsity clash
Teams from the Universities of Edinburgh and St Andrews will clash at the home of Scottish rugby this Saturday, 21 September.
Both the men’s and women’s teams will face off against each other at the BT Murrayfield stadium.
Tickets are priced at £5 for students/under 18s and £10 for adults.
The Royal Bank of Scotland Scottish Varsity Matches were revived in 2011 after a hiatus of over 50 years.
The rivalry between Scotland’s two oldest university rugby clubs has seen more than 10,000 fans flock to the BT Murrayfield stadium since the move to the home of rugby in 2015.
Edinburgh’s men will be looking to retain the title for a third year in a row after triumphing 26-15 in 2018.
St Andrews’ Ladies will be keen to challenge Edinburgh Ladies, who have won all their previous varsity encounters.
The Edinburgh side ran out 49-0 winners at Murrayfield last year.
There really is an unreal atmosphere, and it’s fantastic to have so many people supporting women’s and student rugby.
