Museums launch fun events for children
The University Museums Service is launching its first Family Programme, with fun monthly events for children.
The free programme begins with a Family Fun Day at St Cecilia’s Hall and Music Museum on Saturday 29 June.
Activities will include a Family Trail – with prizes to be won by those who complete it - harpsichord demonstrations, a craft stall and more for all the family.
The Families Programme will take place on the last Saturday of every month. Events are designed to engage children with the University’s collections and the stories behind them.
In the coming months families will be able to make their own instruments from recycled materials, listen to live music and learn more about the fascinating instruments on display in St Cecilia’s Hall and Music Museum.
Upcoming sessions will explore instruments such as the guitar, fiddles and bagpipes.
