University Court seeks new members

The University is seeking expressions of interest from people interested in serving on its governing body, the University Court.

The positions provide an opportunity to be involved in the governance of one of the leading Scottish, UK and international universities.

Governing body

The University Court is responsible for the strategic direction of the institution. It approves corporate strategies and policies, and takes the final decision on matters of fundamental concern to the University.

The University Court meets five times a year.

Members of Court are expected to serve on at least one Court Committee and may also serve on working groups considering specific strategic matters.

While the positions are unremunerated, the University will meet all reasonable costs associated with membership of Court and other activities on behalf of the University, including child and other dependent care costs.

Suitably experienced applicants from all walks of life are encouraged to apply.

Applicants cannot be current University staff or students (whose representatives on the University Court are selected separately), but graduates of the University are eligible to apply.

Further information on the vacancies, including how to apply, can be found below.
