Staff recognised in Queen’s birthday honours

Four current or former members of University staff have been recognised in the Queen’s birthday honours list.

Dr Colin Adams, former Director of Commercialisation in the School of Informatics and Director of Informatics Ventures, has been made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE).

Dr Adams’ award recognises his services to innovation and entrepreneurship.

Colin has achieved a huge amount through leadership and teamwork. He has transformed the informatics community in Edinburgh, and he’s done it gently, with a combination of common sense and confidence. He helped us realise how much we already had to be proud of. And then he helped create a whole lot more things for the city, and for Scotland, to be even prouder of.
