The People’s Postcode Lottery has announced a partnership with the University of Edinburgh to create a postgraduate scholarship programme for students developing an environmentally friendly project.
The Postcode Lottery Green Challenge Scholarship is a £100,000 competition for prospective and current students wishing to pursue a postgraduate degree that will develop a green-themed commercial concept.
Selected students will be awarded a scholarship of up to £20,000 to cover their postgraduate degree tuition fees for up to three years.
The scholarship is looking for students with concepts and ideas that successfully combine sustainability, entrepreneurship and creativity.
A judging panel will consider applications that could be brought to market and potentially make a contribution towards reducing carbon emissions.
Entries are now open. Final date for submissions is 31 March 2016.
The competition is also open to prospective and current Open University students.
