Unexpected Edinburgh
Photographs by our international students reveal the people, places and experiences that have taken them by surprise.
The University's International Office holds an annual photography competition for international students.
The theme of this year's competition was "Unexpected Edinburgh".
Students were asked to think about the things they have seen, the experiences they've had, and the people they have met that have taken them by surprise.

The competition's three main categories - People, Places, Experiences - were open to all current international students at the University of Edinburgh.
Another category, Edinburgh Abroad, was open to current online distance learning students outside of the UK and students who are on, or have been on, a 'Go Abroad' experience or exchange.
