Summer graduations

Our summer graduation ceremonies take place between Saturday 27 June and Saturday 4 July, 2015.

A motor neuron disease (MND) campaigner, an acclaimed writer and historian, and a former First Minister of Scotland are among those receiving honorary awards.

Honorary graduates

Professor Dr Ulrike Beisiegel

On Monday 29 June, the President of the University of Göttingen, Germany, will be awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science.

Mr William Dalrymple

The historian, writer and critic will receive an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters on Tuesday 30 June.

Mr David Nicholls

The English novelist and screenwriter will be awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters on Thursday 2 July.

Lord McConnell of Glenscorrodale

On Friday 3 July, the First Minister of Scotland from 2001-2007, and Vice President of UNICEF UK, will receive an Honorary Degree of Doctor honoris causa.

The former Edinburgh University Students' Association (EUSA) sabbatical officer and ardent campaigner for improving research and care for MND sufferers will be awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor honoris causa on Saturday 4 July.
