The University of Edinburgh offers a variety of scholarships to prospective students who plan to study a postgraduate taught Masters programme.
Awards are based on academic merit and are designed to attract the brightest students from around the world in their chosen academic fields.
Sourcing and securing funding can be a daunting task. Our postgraduate scholarships are funded by the University as well as from a variety of external funding bodies.

Scholarships and Student Funding
Forty Masters scholarships are available for postgraduate study in any subject offered by the University to students who are nationals of countries outwith the EU. Fifteen scholarships will have a value of £5,000 each, while a further 25 scholarships will have a value of £3,000 each.
Edinburgh Global Masters Scholarships
Twelve Edinburgh Global Latin American Masters Scholarships are available to students from eligible countries for postgraduate Master's study in any subject. Each scholarship will have a value of £5,000.
Edinburgh Global Latin American Masters Scholarships
In partnership with the Scottish Government, the University will offer 10 Masters scholarships to Chinese citizens for postgraduate study. Each scholarship will have a value of £5,000.
Eric Liddell China Saltire Scholarships
Twelve Masters scholarships for students from India are also available for postgraduate Masters study with each scholarship having a value of £3,000.
Principal’s Indian Masters Scholarships
There will be 92 Masters Scholarships available for the 2014-2015 academic session. Scholarships are available to UK nationals who are permanently domiciled in Scotland, as well as EU nationals who have been accepted on an eligible full-time or part-time Masters degree programme. The scholarships will cover the full UK/EU tuition fee.
Highly Skilled Workforce Scholarships
A number of Masters scholarships are available to UK and EU students who have been accepted on a one year full-time Masters degree programme in any subject offered by the University. The scholarships will cover the UK/EU tuition fee up to £7,800.
