Investment views invited

The University is asking staff, students and alumni how it should invest its money.

Edinburgh was the first University in Europe to sign the UN Principles of Responsible investment.

The commitment requires the University to consider environmental, social and corporate governance issues in its investment practices.

This consultation is the next stage in turning the University’s commitment into reality. We are keen to hear a range of views during the consultation period in order to allow us to take an informed decision about how the University’s funds should be invested.

With endowment funds totalling more than £280m, the consultation follows the University's adoption of social responsibility as a key theme in its most recent Strategic Plan.

The consultation paper outlines options and seeks views from the University community on how the University might fulfil its commitment under the UN Principles.

It is also hoped that the process will help to inform how the University responds to future issues in a rapidly changing world.

How to respond

Staff, students and alumni are invited to respond to the consultation by visiting the consultation web page and following the instructions.
