Students and staff are gearing up for Innovative Learning Week.

From 17-21 February, our regular timetables will be replaced with a lively mix of more than 300 activities across the University.

The change in schedule offers students opportunities to develop new skills, meet new people and help prepare for employment.

Branch out

Innovative Learning Week is a celebration of the imaginative teaching that takes place at our University year-round.

By encouraging students to create their own timetable from the diverse range of activities programmed for one week, students have the opportunity to:

  • gain new study perspectives
  • develop career prospects
  • exchange ideas and stimulate debate
  • meet staff and students from other Schools and Colleges
  • explore opportunities for research and revision

We are delighted with the quality and breadth of events on offer at Innovative Learning Week this year. This is a great opportunity for students to enhance their skill-set, while teachers can explore new ways of teaching.

Ongoing engagement

A group of enthusiastic students will also be capturing the week’s activities online.

Our Innovative Learning Week reporters will be blogging, tweeting and photographing events to keep the students and staff updated on all that is going on.

Quality teaching

Innovative Learning Week is part of the University’s ongoing commitment to delivering quality teaching.

It is part of a £4 million investment over three years to enhance the student experience.

Initiatives generated by this investment include a new personal tutor system and an informal peer-support scheme.
