Two students have been awarded scholarships by the ScottishPower Foundation to study at Edinburgh.
Charles Boyle has arrived at the University to complete a one-year MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems.
He recently gained a first class honours degree in chemistry with medicinal chemistry at the University of Glasgow.
Also joining the scholarship programme at Edinburgh is Iain Boyd, who is studying an MSc in Environmental Sustainability, and who has also come from the University of Glasgow.
Both students are among 13 to have been awarded scholarships to study courses in energy and environment related disciplines.
The ScottishPower Foundation, along with its Spanish equivalent Fundación IBERDROLA, funds a number of scholarship and research grant programmes focused on energy and environment.
British and Spanish graduates are eligible to apply.
The ScottishPower Foundation aims to promote the training of professionals who are capable of leading the industry towards a sustainable model that meets the energy needs of society and contributes to the protection of the environment.
Further information on the 2014/15 scholarship programme will be available in early 2014.
