Postgraduate Research Experience Survey 2013
As part of the University’s efforts to gather vital feedback on the experience and satisfaction of our students, March sees the launch of the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES).
The PRES is a national survey which we take part in every two years along with more than 100 other universities across the UK. It is open to postgraduate research students in all years.

How we use the findings
The PRES results from 2011 have shaped various initiatives aimed at further improving the experience of postgraduate researchers at Edinburgh. This has included:
- continuing the expansion of the range of professional and transferable skills development opportunities;
- new orientation resources for postgraduate researchers arriving part way through the academic year;
- new Online programmes and events were developed for part-time students;
- extending the Compass Programme for new international postgraduate researchers.
Surveys for postgraduate taught students and undergraduates
The National Student Survey for final year undergraduates is still open and will close on 30 April.
The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey is also still open and will finish on 14 June.
