Education & previous employment | BSc in Genetics (University of Glasgow) and MRes in Molecular Genetics (University of Nottingham) working on the role of Kelch phosphatase in Malaria development. My first job as a research assistant was for Louise Bicknell in the Jackson lab working on exome sequencing and the functional analysis of mutations in patients with microcephaly and reduced stature. I then moved from PD to AGS and worked with Karen Mackenzie, helping to understand the mechanisms underlying inflammation in AGS. |
Scientific interests | I now work as a general technician in the lab on both PD and AGS. |
Outside interests | Hill walking/snow sports/water sports, running (or anything outdoorsy, love a mountain), eating chocolate (for breakfast), reading, cats. Family and friends, travelling, new foods. Gin and tonic. Crafts, sewing, art. Labelling things with my label maker. |
