Born & raised Germany
Education & previous employment I studied molecular cell biology at Leiden University in the Netherlands (BSc + MSc) and afterwards did my PhD at the Leiden University Medical Centre.
Scientific interests During my doctoral work, I studied the role of the post-translational modification SUMOylation in proteostasis, centromere regulation and the DNA damage response. I am now interested in how post-translational modifications regulate nucleic acid-sensing innate immune processes.
Outside interests I love outside activities like hiking and wind-surfing. But also enjoy reading books, bullet journaling, watching movies, singing and dancing.
